Woman jumps from balcony during home invasion

WICHITA, Kan. — A Wichita woman was hurt Monday after jumping from her balcony during a home invasion.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. Monday in the 4400 block of South Dodge. According to police, a man entered through an unlocked door and confronted the 29-year-old woman who lives there.

He reportedly hit her several times, then stole her cell phone and cash. She ran out the back and jumped from her balcony, suffering minor injuries. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s, medium build with a mustache and goatee. He was wearing a white t-shirt, tan peacoat and blue denim Ralph Lauren tennis shoes.
