A Yates Center woman was killed in a head-on crash Friday afternoon in Coffey County.
It happened just before 3 p.m. at Highway 75 and 23rd Road Northwest, about six and a half miles north of New Strawn.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says Lucinda Burnett, 47, was heading northbound on Highway 75 when her Ford Taurus veered left of the centerline and hit a southbound pickup head-on.
Burnett was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup, Joseph Rottinghaus, 55, of Hutchinson, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of potentially serious injuries.
