The 28 year-old victim, who wants only to be identified as Keeley lives in the 600 block of north Topeka has bruises from being brutally assaulted Monday night.
"This pain condition shoots from here all the way to here," said Keeley showing us her head and legs.
She is confined to a wheelchair thanks to two broken legs. When a man came up to her from behind and hit her over the head with brass knuckles she still fought back.
"He punched me two or three times," she said.
Her boyfriend heard the commotion and jumped on the suspect, who was still holding the brass knuckles.
"I went to grab it, and he tried to bite me," Keeley said. "So I head butted him. Then I bit his shoulder to where he couldn't move."
Police arrived and arrested the suspect. Officers on the scene believe the suspect may have swallowed a narcotic drug. He was taken to a local hospital for observation before being taken to jail.
