WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — U.S. Senate candidate Milton Wolf is having three rallies across Kansas with a national tea party group.
The first campaign event involving the Tea Party Express is Thursday in Wichita. Wolf also plans rallies Thursday in Topeka and Overland Park in his quest to unseat three-term incumbent Pat Roberts in the Republican primary.
The California-based Tea Party Express has jumped into Senate and congressional races across the country.
Wolf is a Leawood radiologist who already has backing from tea party groups.
He recently has faced criticism about posting graphic images from X-rays of victims of gunshot wounds and other medical injuries on a personal Facebook page several years ago. Wolf has apologized, but Roberts is running a statewide cable-television ad questioning whether Wolf can be trusted.
