Wind blamed for I-70 accident

TREGO COUNTY, Kan Two people were injured Saturday night when a wind gust toppled their semi. The accident was reported at 10:15 p.m. on I-70, 14 miles west of Wakeeney.

The Kansas Highway patrol said the semi driven by Kariem Petty of Hamlet, NC had pulled onto the shoulder due to bad weather. A wind gust caused the truck to topple onto its side.

Petty and a passenger Alfred Dyre, also of Hamlet, were taken to Quinter Medical Center.
