Wichita authorities have placed a 14-year-old boy in protective custody after police were told he'd been handcuffed to a bathroom towel bar for several hours.
The Wichita Eagle reports that the Department of Children and Families received a call Thursday to report the boy being handcuffed.
Lt. Jeff Weible says that when two detectives arrived at the home, the boy was not handcuffed. But the boy told police he had been handcuffed to the towel bar in the bathroom for several hours. Weible said the teen was not injured, and no arrests have been made.
The boy was, however, placed in protective custody. Weible says the investigation is continuing.
