Wichita police investigate 3 shootings

Police are investigating three shooting incidents that happened in east and northeast Wichita.

The first happened at 6 p.m. Friday at Towne East Square in the 7700 block of East Kellogg. Sgt. Ron Hunt said a person reported hearing several gunshots in the area and saw four people run to a car and drive away. No one was hurt.

Officers located the car, and a short chase ensued before the four teens got out and ran. They were quickly taken into custody. Three of them are 17 years old; the other is 18. Formal charges are pending.

The second, a drive-by, happened around 11:15 Friday night in the 2300 block of North Lorraine. A 31-year-old man told police two men got out of a tan car and walked up to a house in that area and fired three shots.

Police recovered shell casings at the scene and found three bullet holes in the home. No one inside was hurt.

A second drive-by happened around midnight Saturday at a home in the 1700 block of North Old Manor. Witnesses reported hearing nine gunshots and seeing a white Chevy Suburban with large rims speed away with its lights off.

Sgt Hunt said officers recovered 14 shell casings at the scene. Several bullet holes were found in the home and two vehicles.
