WICHITA, Kan. -- According to flight tracker some 25-hundred flights were cancelled across the nation Sunday.
That many flights cancelled and others delayed plays havoc with flight schedules.
Several flights in and out of Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport didn't fly on schedule.
Jane Brazil was in Wichita for a family reunion over the weekend. Brazil had turned in her rental car expecting to catch a flight Monday morning to Franklin, Tennessee. But her flight through Dallas was cancelled. So she rented another car since she'll be here another day.
Vern Wallace spent the weekend hunting white tail deer near Lyons. The hunter from the Syracuse, New York area got his deer but also got stuck longer in Wichita. He was lucky enough to get rebooked on a Monday evening flight and hopes to get back to New York sometime Tuesday.
Charlie Seaton was supposed to arrive in Wichita Sunday night. He had plans to help teach a class at the National Institute for Aviation Research on the WSU campus Monday morning. But he got stuck in Chicago and didn't arrive in Wichita until late Monday morning.
As some veteran fliers say -- when you fly this time of the year you run the risk of weather delays.
