Wichita man pleads guilty in shooting death

WICHITA, Kan-- A Wichita man has pleaded guilty to murder in a deadly shooting. Dennis Haynes entered the plea in Sedgwick County District Court Tuesday.

Haynes pleaded guilty to first degree murder in the April, 2013 death of Ronald Betts. Betts was shot during a drug deal at a house at 446 N. Emporia.

Haynes has also pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder, attempted aggravated robbery and attempted possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Haynes will be sentenced September 18th.
