WICHITA, Kan. — A Wichita man with several prior felony convictions has been sentenced to more than 17 years for unlawful possession of a firearm.
Monday, 38-year-old Juan Sabino Marquez, Jr. was sentenced after previously pleading guilty to one count of unlawful possession of a firearm after felony convictions.
According to his plea, Wichita police officers stopped his vehicle for an expired tag in July 2013. Officers found a Ruger .380 caliber handgun inside. At the time, Marquez, had eight prior felony convictions and was on parole for a gun violation.
Marquez was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison.
