Wichita man arrested for shaking wife, punching baby

WICHITA, Kan. — A Wichita man was arrested over the weekend, accused of shaking his wife and punching his baby.

It happened just after 10:30 Saturday night at a home in the 3200 block of South Victoria.

According to Wichita Police, a 36-year-old man became angry and began shaking his 32-year-old wife, then punched his one-year-old boy in the face.

The child was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was transferred to a different hospital due to the severity of his injuries. His current condition is unknown.

Three other girls in the home, ages 11, 10 and 9, were taken into police protective custody.

Officers were able to locate the man nearby, and he was arrested on several charges including DV battery, aggravated child endangerment, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and transporting an open container.
