WICHITA, Kan -- David and Ashley Jones aren't letting their younger children play outside alone anymore. Two of their kids told them someone tried to kidnap them.

"They said a car had pulled in to the yard, then went around back and disappeared like magic," said Ashley Jones.

After seeing the tire tracks leading up to the front porch, the Jones were paralyzed with the fear of what if.

"It's almost as if they were watching the place," said David Jones. "It was creepy."

It happened Wednesday afternoon. The girls, ages 6 and 4, were playing on their porch just outside Derby. Their parents were inside. That's when the girls say a white woman with black curly hair pulled into the driveway, then through the yard right up to the porch.

"The lady motioned a hand gesture to get in the vehicle," said Ashley Jones.

The girls say the woman was driving a small four door blue car with some black on it. When the two kids refused to get in the car, the woman drove away.

"There's a lot we don't hear about," said David Jones. "I want people to know this is serious. We live in a day and age where you watch your kids closely. You can't be too careful."

Sheriff's investigators are hoping to get help from the public in finding the woman.
