Wichita, Kan. -- Ross Reed has 25 years of experience in the motorcycle business and in that time, he's had his fair share of experience with break-ins.
"Just the nature of the business. It's been rare they actually got away with anything in the last several years," Ross Reed, owner of Mid America Powersports said.
But the word rare has taken on a whole new meaning for Reed. His store, Mid America Powersports, was broken into twice in 30 days, in exactly the same way.
"They're identical," Reed said.
In both break-ins, the thieves got up on the roof and cut a small hole in the exact same spot and then somehow safely got down to the warehouse floor. That is about a 20 foot drop.
"Possibly hand to hand down the beams or the cables, very risky, very very risky," Reed said.
Reed says this time, the thieves stole two bikes and a utility vehicle. It's about a $24,000 loss, plus another $20,000 from the first burglary, and two separate roof repairs.
"It just really just aggravates you. It's the second time in 30 days and it is just really upsetting," Reed said.
Ross Reed says he doesn't want there to be a third roof-top break in, so he's beefing up his security for the second time this month. He's also asking anyone who has any information at all, to call him or Crimestoppers at 316-267-2111.
"Let's just find the people who did it, that's the main thing," Reed said.
The vehicles stolen were a green 2014 Kawasaki Terrex Four Seat UTV, a Yamaha TTR 50 blue and white bike, and a KTM 65 SX bright orange bike.
