A Wichita woman is facing multiple charges involving the filing of false federal income tax returns.
Charges were originally filed a year ago, but a new, superseding indictment accuses 33-year-old Wichita resident Lata Tomlinson of preparing false federal income tax returns for 17 people from 2007 to 2009.
The 19-count indictment alleges that Tomlinson falsely stated deductions for depreciation, home improvements and repairs, business repairs, contract labor, legal fees, medical expenses, advertising, insurance, car and truck expenses, hay and grain expenses, cell phones and care of dependents.
If convicted, Tomlinson could face a maximum of three years in federal prison and a fine of $100,000 on each count.
