Butler County Community College and Wichita State University have signed a reverse articulation agreement. The agreement between the two schools will allow students to transfer some credits from Wichita State to Butler to obtain an associates degree from the community college.

Eligible students will have to transfer 45 credits from Butler or other accredited institutions, completed 15 or more credits at Wichita State University, met residency requirements for a degree from Butler, and wish to participate in a reverse transfer.

In a news release from the university, WSU Interim Provost Keith Pickus said "This partnership with Butler Community College greatly enhances the opportunities for students to be academically successful, and it significantly contributes to the national goal of having 60 percent of adults with post-secondary degrees."

"Agreements such as this helps graduation rates for everybody, and we know that students who earn an associate degree are more likely to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree." said Wichita State President John Bardo.

Butler Community College President Jackie Vietti said, "We look forward to this novel initiative as the first of many to meet the interests of the students we collectively serve."
