Wichita police investigate 2 robberies, 1 attempted robbery

WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita Police are investigating two robberies and one attempted robbery Friday night.

The first incident happened at the Kentucky Fried Chicken, located at Harry and Woodlawn. Sgt. John Hoofer says shortly before 9 p.m. and man entered, armed with a handgun, and demanded money from the safe.

None of the employees had the combination and the thief left empty handed.

The second incident happened at the Subway, located in the 6100 block of East 21st Street, near Woodlawn. just before 10 p.m., an man entered, pointed a black handgun at the employee and asked him to open the safe.

The suspect left with an unknown amount of money. He was wearing a green hoodie, black jacket and blue jeans, and wearing a camouflage facemask.

The third incident happened inside the Burger King in the 200 block of South Rock Road. Just before 11 p.m., three men entered the business and demanded money from the employees. They then held and employee at gunpoint while forcing him to open the safe.

The men were last seen running on foot in the area. So far, no arrests have been made.
