WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita Police say they're noticing an increase in the number of trailer thefts.
According to larceny detectives, the increase in thefts have been happening across the city since March. Thieves are taking all kinds of trailers, from single-axle garden trailers to large flatbeds.
Officers say tongue locks and wheel locks help, but those precautions still haven't stopped some thefts from occurring.
Some trailers have been recovered but others have not and police don't know where they're being taken. VINs are also being removed.
Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (316) 268-4136 or Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.
