Wichita Police have released surveillance photos of a man they're looking for in connection to a robbery in southeast Wichita.
Late Tuesday morning, a man walked into the Friendly Smoker Shop in the 6600 block of East Harry and asked for a pack of cigarettes. As the clerk was ringing up the sale, the suspect pushed him to the floor, pulled out a gun and began stealing cash and other tobacco products.
Two customers walked in while this was going on, and the suspect forced them along with the clerk go to the back room. No one was hurt.
Following a burglary to the store last year, the owner installed security cameras. With photos taken by one of those cameras in yesterday's robbery, police are hoping the public can help identify the man.
He's described as a black male, approximately 30-years-old, 6’2," 220 pounds with a thin to medium build. He was wearing a tan stocking or skull cap, tan jacket, tan polo shirt and dark colored pants.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
