Wichita Police say a 26-year-old man was taken into custody after he broke into several cars in East Wichita.
It began around 1:30 Saturday morning in the 900 block of South Enoch. Sgt. Bruce Watts says four young men saw a the suspect breaking into their cars and confronted him.
The suspect pulled out a pocket knife and threatened the men before running to the fire station at Lincoln and Rock Road. Firefighters confronted the suspect who then threatened them with the knife.
The firefighters overpowered the man and held him until police arrived. He was booked into jail on charges of burglary, theft, aggravated assault, trespassing,and possession of drug paraphernalia.
No one was hurt in the incident.
