Wichita, Kan. -- The Wichita Fire Department has partnered with Shelter Insurance and Tyco SimplexGrinnell to provide smoke alarms for Wichita residents.
So far this year in Wichita, 11 people have died in house fires where smoke alarms were either not present or not working. The fire department is urging residents to own and test smoke alarms to help prevent further tragedies.
