While You Were Sleeping - Man Leads Police On Chase

Friday, May 11, 2012

Before you head out the door, we like to catch you up with what happened while you were sleeping.

Residents of south Wichita may have noticed a lot of sirens and police cars as a man led officers on a chase before crashing his car, sparking a 40-minute search.

The chase began about 11:55 p.m. near Orient and Martinson, just northwest of Harry and Seneca. Emergency dispatchers say the suspect wrecked his car a few minutes later in a construction zone on Seneca near South High School. The suspect then ran from the scene of the crash.

He was caught about 12:40 a.m. near in the 3400 block of South Southwood Court, also near South High School.

If you notice emergency traffic in your neighborhood while you're trying to sleep, you can ask us about it on our Good Morning Kansas Facebook page and we'll look for an answer.
