More than two and half inches of rain has fallen on Wichita since early Saturday morning. That is on top of what was recorded on Friday.
As of Saturday afternoon, localized street flooding was reported near Central Avenue and Interstate 235. Flooding of streets will continue to be a concern through Saturday evening and overnight, though it should remain localized.
Overall, the rain is welcoming relief from the extreme drought gripping KAKEland.
Rainfall will continue Saturday night and early Sunday morning, mainly for Central and Eastern Kansas. Western Kansas will begin to dryout Saturday night.
After a few morning showers Sunday morning, all of KAKEland should be dry by the afternoon.
If you are heading out tonight, be aware of flooded roadways. DO NOT attempt to cross them. Rushing waters as little as six inches deep can sweep you and your car away!!!
Stay with the KAKEland WeatherPlex for continued updates on the rain potential through Sunday morning.
