There will be no school at Beech and Colvin Elementary Schools for Monday because of lack of power at those schools. Students who live in the area between Broadmoor and Greenwich, and Harry and Pawnee, won’t receive bus transportation for Monday because of streets being closed. Also, due to road conditions, some bus routes could be running late tomorrow.
Teachers and staff who work at Beech and Colvin will report to the Instructional Support Center at 10 a.m. Custodial and Nutrition Services staff who work at Beech and Colvin will report to the School Service Center at their normal work time.
Decisions regarding the status of classes on Tuesday will be determined on Monday afternoon.
Except for some minor roof damage at Colvin Elementary, there was no significant damage to any Wichita schools due to Saturday night’s storms.

Three Derby-area schools have canceled classes for Monday in wake of the weekend’s severe storms.
A tornado moved through the Oaklawn neighborhood Saturday night, damaging dozens of homes in its path. The twister also knocked off several homes from their foundations. Westar crews worked through the night to restore power in the area.
Some residents will not be allowed to return to their homes until Sunday evening.
U.S.D. 260 has canceled classes Monday for Cooper Elementary and Oaklawn Elementary.
The TOP Early Learning Center is also closed for Monday. School officials said the building’s roof sustained damage.
