Wichita State volleyball assistant coach Jeff Sanders was suspended with pay the day he was arrested for driving under the influence.

A Maize police report shows Sanders was arrested last week for driving under the influence and improper driving on a laned roadway.

Sanders did not travel with the volleyball team to Orem, Utah for the opening weekend of the season and will not travel to Portland, Ore., this weekend.

In a news release, WSU Athletic Director Eric Sexton said Sanders was suspended for conduct detrimental to the athletic program.
It is Wichita State’s policy not to comment on personnel issues.
