Heavy rains have caused a mudslide on Highway 24.
Westbound Highway 24 is closed at 31st Street in Colorado Springs. Eastbound Highway 24 is closed at Pikes Peak Highway.
The Fire Department In Manitou Springs says anyone near Fountain Creek needs to move to higher ground immediately.
A shelter has been opened in Manitou Springs at Historic Community Congregational Church, 103 Pawnee Avenue.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says transportation being arranged to bring those people stranded on Hwy 24 to the shelter.
