A local group called Visioneering is surveying south-central Kansas in an effort to make it more competitive for people and jobs. The group has teamed up young professionals of Wichita and the Downtown Development Corporation for their priority Project.
Wichita Visioneering co-chair Sommer Keplar says the group is now surveying people in the area to identify their top priorities. Their hope is to find out how to get more people and jobs to the region.
"Some of the complications are people's perceptions of Wichita. They don't understand all of the great things we have here," said Kelpar. "I know from a Young Professional persecutive we all often hear that people don't realize how great we have it here in Wichita."
Visioneering is the comprehensive long-range planning initiative for south-central Kansas. Partners include the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce, City of Wichita, Sedgwick County, as well as hundreds of organizations, businesses and individuals who work together as vision partners and in strategic alliances to improve the region's economy and quality of life.
