The man accused in the murder of a Salina woman has been officially charged.
Monday morning, 24-year-old Joel Heil made his first court appearance and was charged with one count of first degree murder.
Salina resident Kristin Tyler, 27, had been missing since April 25. Early last week, investigators arrested Heil as a "person of interest" in her disappearance.
Last Thursday, a deputy searching near a bridge in the 2000 block of West Stimmel Road found her remains. Investigators said no attempt was made to hide the body.
On Friday, Saline County investigators said they're anticipating more arrests in the case. Information on other possible suspects has not been released.
Heil is being on a $1,000,000 bond. He'll be back in court early next week.
