Two people killed in Pawnee County crash

PAWNEE COUNTY, Kan Two people from Georgia were killed when their car rolled in Western Kansas. The accident happened Wednesday morning on Kansas Highway 156 in Pawnee County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said a car driven by Jeremiah Mendez, 24, of Morrow, Georgia left the roadway and struck a sign. The car went back on to the roadway briefly then rolled several times.

Mendez was killed in the crash. Also killed was Mark Wheelous, 24, of Atlanta, Georgia. Two other passengers were taken to Pawnee Valley Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
