Garden Plain, Kan. -- Firefighters used the jaws of life to free an elderly woman from her car, following a crash near Garden Plain.
It happened around 3:45 p.m. on 295th Street at Highway 54. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office says a the woman was exiting the highway in her Cadillac when she failed to yield at the stop sign at the top of the ramp.
Her car was struck by an SUV and then rolled down the embankment. She was transported by EagleMed helicopter to Via Christi-St. Francis in critical condition.
The driver of the SUV was treated at the scene.
