Salina, Kan -- Two men have been arrested and more arrests are possible in the theft of five classic cars last month in Saline County.
KSAL reports that the vehicles were reported stolen by their owner back on April 7.
Sheriff Glen Kochanowski says 53-year-old Douglas Gabel of Herington and 47-year-old John Kasper of Hope were taken into custody on Wednesday in connection to the case.
The classic cars, a 1939 Plymouth 4-door sedan, 1949 Studebaker 2-door coupe and a 1950 4-door Studebaker, are believed to have been cut up and sold for scrap.
The suspects are being held in the Saline County Jail. Gabel is facing 10 charges of felony theft and criminal damage to property. Kasper is being held on 3 counts each of theft and criminal damage to property.
The case is still under investigation and more arrests are possible.
