Two men have been taken into custody following a chase along a stretch of highway in McPherson and Harvey Counties.
Just before 2 p.m. Thursday, deputies were alerted of a chase from McPherson coming toward Harvey County on I-135.
After stop sticks were deployed on the interstate, the black Chevy Tahoe went across the median and continued to travel south in the northbound lane. Deputies shut down the northbound traffic in the area.
Sgt. Perkins of the Harvey County Sheriff's Office reported the Tahoe was driving directly at him, but he was able to avoid being hit.
The Tahoe then left the interstate and drove through a KDOT fence, through a tree row, through a second pasture fence and came to rest in a corn field east of the interstate.
The driver, 43-year-old Marty Moler, and his passenger, 46-year-old Glenn Moler, fled the scene. Both men were located and taken into custody just before 3 p.m.
Formal charges will be filed through the Harvey County Attorney's Office.
