Two Salina residents are recovering and a Minneapolis man has been jailed following a shooting early Saturday morning. It happened just after 1 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of East Iron Avenue in Salina.
Upon arrival, police found two people, Emily Ramos-Powell, 36, and Jesse Powell, 36, had been shot. According to police, the victims live at the complex. They were taken to a local hospital and underwent surgery. Both are currently listed in stable condition.
Johnnie Kilpatrick, 71, was booked into the Saline County Jail on two counts of attempted first-degree murder.
Authorities say the victims and the suspect are acquainted.
