A person injured in a Reno County car accident Thursday afternoon has died.

The driver of the minivan, identified as 76-year-old Jacqueline Spencer of Haven, had been taken to a Hutchinson hospital where she died a short time later.

The passenger in the van was her husband, 77-year-old Marshall Spencer, and he was transported to a Wichita hospital in critical condition. His current condition is unknown.

The crash remains under investigation.

Two people were critically injured Thursday afternoon in a crash in southeast Reno County.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. near Yoder Road and Pleasant Valley Road. Capt. Wayne Baughman says a deputy came across a minivan that had been traveling southbound on Yoder Road. The vehicle left the roadway, went into a ditch, and then continued traveling southbound. The van then struck a culvert and a barbwire fence before coming to rest.

The driver and passenger suffered critical injuries. The driver was taken to a Hutchinson hospital, and the passenger was transported to a Wichita hospital.

No further information has been released.
