Wichita Police have arrested a driver for driving under the influence after he was involved in an accident that injured his two children.
It happened in the 3300 block of S. Gold around midnight Sunday. Police said a 26-year-old man was speeding, when he hit a parked car.
The man's 2-year-old and 5-year-old sons were in the car during the accident. They were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Investigators said the children were properly restrained in their car seats.
Police said the younger boy has improved over the holiday weekend. However, the 5-year-old boy remains in critical condition.
Officers arrested the father for driving under the influence, aggravated assault, speeding and possession of marijuana.

Two children under the age of six were injured when a car collided with a parked vehicle in south Wichita Sunday.
Shortly after midnight, police say a vehicle traveling northbound on Gold Street at a high rate of speed hit a parked car near the intersection of Gold and 32nd Street South. Two children were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, Sgt. Clay Germany said.
The 26-year-old male driver was taken in for questioning.
