An intoxicated driver was arrested Thursday evening after hitting a Hutchinson boy on a bicycle.
It happened just after 7:30 p.m. at a crosswalk near 9th Avenue and Main Street on the city's northeast side.
Hutchinson police said in a news release that seven-year-old Devon White-McArthure was riding his bicycle through the crosswalk on 9th Avenue when he was hit by a northbound GMC pickup that was attempting to turn left onto 9th.
White-McArthure was taken to a local hospital for lacerations to his face and body. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The driver of the pickup, 28-year-old Tyler Arreguin, was arrested for DUI, aggravated battery and no insurance.
