The Topeka Treasure Chest has only been open since February. Now the owners have to deal with not only starting a new business, but now the hard work to recover from being burglarized.

The store, located at 420 C SE 29th St., was hit by a burglar around 3:30am Monday morning after a man busted the front door window, and entered the store stealing around $5,000 in merchandise.

Now the owners have gone to Facebook to send the burglar a message:

That post has been shared over 150 times, along with photos.

They say the man knew exactly where he was going when he entered the store, heading straight for a jewelry case.

When called, the owners declined to comment but said they would continue to update Facebook with new information.
