Six Motorcycles Involved In Toy Run Accidents

Wichita Police said six motorcycles were involved in accidents during the Toy Run Sunday. The toy run took motorcyclists from Lawrence Dumont Stadium to the Kansas Pavilions.

Lt. Joe Schroeder said one accident was caused by a rider who stopped in the line to pick up his American Flag that had fallen off of the back of his bike. The crash happened when the rider attempted to get back in line.

Lt. Schroeder said another accident was caused by several factors, including "speed, inexperience, and alcohol."

Three people were hurt. Their injuries are not life threatening.

Three motorcycle riders were hurt in two separate accidents while participating in in Sunday's Wichita Toy Run. The victims all suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Officials say the first accident happened around 1:30 p.m. at Broadway Street and 77th Street North. One person was hospitalized with a minor injury.

The second accident happened just after 2 p.m. on Broadway Street and 25th Street North. Officials say a man and woman were riding together on a motorcycle when they collided with another motorcycle.

The victims were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The rider on the other motorcycle was not hurt.
