Three months after a tornado struck the Oaklawn area, there are signs of renewal.
Davis Liquor, 3331 E. 47th South, will hold a grand reopening Friday morning, 82 days after the tornado shut it down.
Owner Brian Davis says he lost about $50,000 in beer and liquor and a lot of money in lost business.
"I'm hoping to get 50 percent back," said Davis. "We won't know what the total loss is until we reopen."
Davis had to replace the roof on the liquor store and renovate the inside. He plans on opening the doors at 9 a.m. He'll be grilling hotdogs and burgers from Noon until 3 p.m. for the neighborhood Friday and Saturday.
