Thousands In Copper Stolen From Westar Warehouse

Thousands of dollars in copper was stolen from the Westar warehouse in the 4400 block of north Seneca late Friday night or early Saturday morning.

The theft was reported just before 9:00 a.m. Saturday.

Wichita Police Stg. Bart Brunsheen reports the chain link fence had been cut, and a skid loader was used to steal the copper. The skid loader was later found abandoned.

Police do not have any suspects, and the exact value of the copper was not specified.

Local authorities have seen an increasing number of copper thefts in recent months. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
