Wichita police are asking for your help tracking down two men seen on this motel security video.

Police say a woman who was traveling cross-country stopped in east Wichita for the night on August 5th. By the time she woke up, thieves had stolen her truck, along with everything she owned.

The video shows the two men stealing the woman's TV from the back of her truck but they didn't stop there. Later, police say they went back out to the motel's parking lot and stole her truck.

The woman is back home in Missouri now.

After living in California for seven years, Diane Edwards says she decided to move back home to Missouri because of health problems.

"I moved back home so I have more of a support group around me,” Edwards said.

Edwards says she packed up and set off on the long drive home with a friend.

"I had packed everything I owned in the back of that pickup,” Edwards said.

When they were four hours away from home, Edwards says they decided to stop for the night at a motel in Wichita.

Edwards tells us her belongings were in the back of her truck with a tarp over them. When they stopped at the motel, she says she just wanted to take up a change of clothes, so she was digging around under the tarp and dropped her keys to free up her hand. She says she forgot to grab them again.

The next morning Edwards says she looked out her window and her truck was gone.

"My stomach turned over and I was just kind of breathless almost I just gasped and held my breath and thought no this is a bad dream,” Edwards said.

Wichita police found her truck. It had been wrecked and abandoned in north Wichita. Edwards says the thieves took everything she owned with them.

“Each morning and each evening I think of something new that is gone like. My mother died when I was very young and the only thing I had of hers, the only memento I had of hers is gone,” Edwards said.

The purpose of Diane Edward's homecoming was to focus on her health but she says instead she's been trying to build back up her possessions; things she spent a lifetime collecting and lost in an instant.

“He took my life away from me and he took everything I have to wear every piece of jewelry I’ve ever owned and I’m just very, very angry at this stage,” Edwards said.

If you have any information about the two men police believe stole Diane Edwards' truck, you're asked to call Crimestoppers at 316-267-2111.
