Valley Center is planning for thousands of visitors to its small community next month.
The Moving Wall, the original half-size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans' Memorial will be on display in Valley Center for five days.
City leaders said the 250-foot wall will be set up at Lions Park.
"We are real dedicated to the veterans and to recognizing the service to our country," said Mike McNown, mayor. "This is one of those things to enhance our program."
Local veterans said seeing the wall will be a treat.
"It's pretty neat," Bill Arick said. "There's people on there that I've found the names that we lost from our batallion when we were there."
The school district has volunteered its parking lots and buses for shuttling to the park.
The wall will be in Valley Center from Oct. 18 through the 22.
