WICHITA, Kan. — A woman was arrested for alleged drunk driving after two teens stepped in early Sunday morning.

Around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, the teens noticed a car stopped on an I-135 off ramp at 21st Street. A woman was slumped over the steering wheel.

A 17-year-old got out of his car and began to walk over when the woman reportedly sped away, then stopped again at the highway on ramp.

Police say the 17-year-old then ran over to the car, reached in and put the car into park. He also removed the keys from the ignition while his 19-year-old friend called 911.

Police responded and arrested the 25-year-old woman for DUI.

Lt. Dan East said the teens did the right thing by calling 911 and relaying information, but that it was a risky move to take the keys from the car.
