UPDATE: Thursday, June 27, 2013

Wichita police are investigating an overnight shooting near 11th and Madison that left two teens hurt.

Just after midnight, an 18-year-old was walking near 11th and Madison when he was hit in the head with a shotgun pellet. He ran to a nearby home on Ash and police were notified. He was taken to an area hospital where he has since been treated and released. He told officers he didn't know who shot him.

Police say a second victim, a 15-year-old boy, showed up at a hospital a few hours later with a gunshot wound to his right arm.

Officers believe the shootings are connected and possibly gang-related. They believe the victims were in the same place when the shooting occurred.

Police later arrested a 20-year-old man and booked him for Aggravated Battery.

This is the third shooting in this section of Northeast Wichita in seven days. Last Friday, a teenager reported being shot in the shoulder by a passing SUV near 26th and North Ash.
