A teen isn't telling Wichita Police anything about how a bullet became lodged in his neck.

It happened shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday in the 3800 block of East Ross Parkway in Planeview.

The mother took the boy to the Via Christi Hospital on East Harry. He was later transferred to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis.

Doctors discovered that the teen had been shot in the neck and the bullet had lodged behind one of his molars. Police were called to the hospital to investigate, but the boy refused to tell officers what had happened to him.

Police went to the boy's home, but found no evidence that the shooting had taken place there. Detectives are still investigating, but so far no scene has been found and the boy continues to refuse to cooperate.

The child is in stable condition.
