Wichita Police are looking for a man they believe stole a woman's SUV at gunpoint, then used it while robbing a business a short time later.

It all started shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of Towne East Mall in east Wichita. A woman was walking to her vehicle when another man approached. He ordered her to the ground at gunpoint, then drove away in her SUV. She was not hurt.

The woman's vehicle is a 2008 purple Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Around 2:20 p.m., police believe the same suspect walked into the Las Terascas bakery in the 5700 block of East Lincoln and pointed a gun at the clerk. He demanded all the money from the cash register, then drove away in the purple Trailblazer.

The suspect is described as a white man with dark hair in his 20s, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighed about 160 pounds. He was wearing a black stocking cap and khakis.

Police believe this is the same man who was shot by police after a separate carjacking and a foot chase in east Wichita the following day (Friday). Click here for that story.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
