A suspect on a stolen motorcycle led deputies on a pursuit this week, before stopping to surrender at the county jail.
Shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday, deputies tried to pull over a Suzuki motorcycle for traffic violations near I-135 and Hydraulic. The rider sped away and soon after dropped off his female passenger near Morris and Pattie as deputies pursued him.
As the chase continued, a deputy tried to make a turn near 1st and Oliver, but lost control and struck a tree. Another deputy stopped to assist while others continued to pursue the suspect. The deputy was not injured.
The pursuit continued into the downtown area, where the suspect stopped in front of the Sedgwick County Jail and surrendered.
The 24-year-old man was booked on warrants, flee and elude and possession of stolen property. Deputies said the motorcycle had recently been reported stolen in Wichita.
