Storms return to KAKEland and a few could be severe

WICHITA, Kan. -- Shower and storm chances return to KAKEland Wednesday evening into Early Thursday morning. Storms are expected to fire up in Eastern Colorado this afternoon. They will eventually move east into Kansas this evening. These initial storms could produce damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 mph and hail larger than quarters.

As storms track east across the state the hail threat will decrease but the wind threat will remain.. Showers and storms are not anticipated in Wichita until after midnight. The wet weather will be exiting South Central Kansas early Thursday morning.

In addition to the severe wind and hail threat, flooding could be an issue for locations who have received significant rain fall over the past week. Avoid flooded roads and bridges at all costs. Remember, "Turn Around Don't Drown".
