WICHITA, Kan. - A line of storms rolled across Kansas overnight, leaving damage in several locations but with no reports of injuries.

Power lines went down in several Wichita locations. In one case, a power pole was ripped down at its base in the area of 8th and Edgemoor.. Westar Energy at one point counted about 2,300 Sedgwick County customers without electricity.

Heavy rain flooded streets and county roads from curb to curb in parts of Ellis County. Police say an SUV attempting to cross a low-water bridge near the Big Creek dam in Ellis were swept away by higher water. Ellis City Fire Department workers rescued five people from the SUV, with no one hurt.

Elsewhere, high wind knocked over railroad cars for more than half-a-mile inside the town of La Crosse and west of it. The storm also reportedly knocked over a few power poles and damaged trees in Dighton.

Wichita Mid-Continent Airport recorded 0.56 inches of rain from the storm.
