UPDATE: KHP seeks witnesses of fatal crash

Nickerson, Kan. -- The Kansas Highway Patrol is looking for witnesses of a fatal crash that happened over the weekend.

The accident happened just after 11 a.m. Saturday on K-14 at Fairview Road, about four miles west of Nickerson in Reno County. Allyson Yutzy, 20, was killed in the crash.

The collision involved two vehicles, but the Kansas Highway Patrol believes at least two other vehicles were in close proximity when it occurred. They believe one of the witness vehicles was a black passenger car.

A Sterling woman has died following a crash in Reno County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the accident happened shortly after 11 a.m. Saturday on K-14 at Fairview, about 4 miles west of Nickerson. Troopers say 20-year-old Allyson Yutzy was driving westbound on K-14 when she lost control of her Saturn Ion, crossed into the eastbound lanes of K-14 and was struck by a Chevy Tahoe.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. A 24-year-old man in the Tahoe and a 22-year-old woman were taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment.
