Pratt, Kan. -- A six-hour standoff in far southern Pratt County ended peacefully Monday night.
It began around 3:30 p.m. Monday about two miles east of Isabel on K-42 Highway. Sheriff Vernon Chinn told KAKE's Lily Wu at the scene that a man called 911 to report his wife was armed and possibly suicidal.
Authorities later revealed the wife had made threats to harm herself -- and when the husband came home during the afternoon, she fired two shots. He then left and called for help.
The standoff ended around 9:45 p.m. with no one injured. Authorities say the wife is in custody, and will receive a mental evaluation at Pratt Regional Hospital.
A SWAT team from the KBI were called because several weapons were inside the house.
